ニューヨーク・ブルックリンを拠点に活動したトリニダード・トバゴ移民のBabe-B-Face KaosとMr. Man、そしてジャマイカ移民のレゲエDJであるY-Teeの3人からなるグループ、Da Bush Babeesの94年Reprise Recordsからリリースしたデビュー・アルバム！！彼らのルーツであるレゲエ/ラガ色を前面に押し出した東海岸ヒップホップの隠れた名盤。Jermaine Dupriがプロデュースした「Put It Down」では、Al Greenの「I'm Glad You're Mine」やBoogie Down Productionsの「The Bridge Is Over」をサンプリング。Tenor Sawのレゲエ古典「Ring The Alarm」のフレーズを大胆に使用した「Pon De Attack」や、Bob Marleyのチャントをサンプリングした「Get On Down」など、ルーツに根ざしたラガ・スタイルが炸裂。一方、Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest)が手掛けたグループを代表するブルックリン賛歌「We Run Things (It's Like That)」や、Salaam Remiによる「Remember We」など、Native Tongues譲りのジャジーでメロウなクオリティも同居。結局アメ盤の正規はリリースされずこちらの激レアなプロモオンリーとなってしまいました。
